Where's the Chili, dadgumit?

They had it two weekends ago in Vegas ... Was anyone paying attention? .... Anyone know it happened? .... I didn't and I'm thoroughly disgusted. It's been going on for 42 years and nary a peep from whoever handles publicity for event .... Hey, you guys trying to hide? Call me. We'll talk ... The road to the 2009 World Chili Championships begins here ... or at sme other blogspot ... Stay tuned ...

See ya, Big Brown

He won the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness and was supposed to blow away the opposition in the Belmont Stakes and become the first Triple Crown champion in 30 years! What happens? He doesn't run a lick, gets pulled up around the far turn and trots home way last ... Many people were happy because Big Brown's trainer is an allgeded no-good nik, and one of the major owners, Michael Iavarone of IEAH Stable had some shady dealings on Wall Street when he was just starting out.

So now, after two victories following his Belmont flop, Big Brown kicks himself and opens an unglay gash in his right front foot, forcing the colt to be retired and end all chance of a showdown with the alleged god of racing, Curlin.

So that's two events in racing that are pissing me off _ and making me crankly and irritable.

Please ... no one wanted to see a horse sweep the Triple Crown and be compared to Secretariat? Please ... no one wanted to see what would have been one of the greatest showdowns in racing in the Breeders' Cup Classic?

I'm cranky and irritable thinking about what could have been in the Classic.

The Dodgers were cranky and irritable Sunday night, and won. They are ahead 3-2 now ... That is good ... Is anyone cranky Joe Torre has a chance to be in the World Series after leaving the Yankees (not in the playoffs for the first time in a long time) when the young Steinbrenners wanted him to take a pay cut? OK Yankee fans, you should be really freakin' pissed ...
